Welsh Innovations in Healthcare
Welsh Innovations in Healthcare was the first phase in developing an NHS Innovation Hub for Wales. ANGLE established this specialised innovation service on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government with a view to maximising the potential of Intellectual Property and innovations that are generated as part of NHS operations.
In partnership with TrusTECH, the North West of England NHS Innovation Hub, ANGLE delivered specialised advice and direct support in the identification, appraisal, selection and exploitation of service and technology innovation projects in the NHS in Wales.
WIsH supported in excess of 150 individual innovation projects including intensive support to approximately 60 new technology and 30 service innovations. It also supported negotiation of several exploitation licenses. For example our commercial and technical expertise was instrumental in securing a license to Timesco for manufacture and sale of a specialised ophthalmic instrument developed by Swansea NHS Trust.
