Martin Cooke

He has been the Project Manager of a number of ANGLE’s successful commercialisation, business support and technology transfer initiatives across the UK. He has also been responsible for developing a range of regional strategies for technology commercialisation, business incubation and innovation support across the UK and internationally.
Martin joined ANGLE in 2004 and specialises in innovation and knowledge transfer projects supporting SMEs, particularly involving universities and other specialist knowledge and research centres.
He spent much of his early career (1991-2003) as a practicing design engineer and subsequently technical and commercial manager in telecommunications, industrial process control and information technology sectors. With considerable experience in the management and delivery of complex, multidisciplinary projects, Martin has particular experience in developing and growing business relationships around new technology developments.
Martin is a Chartered Engineer and holds an MEng degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Nottingham.

Nicola Culliford
Nicola is a Senior Consultant at ANGLE and works with client businesses across the UK to identify and implement innovation-led growth opportunities. Nicola has particular skill and experience working with businesses in the creative industries. Read more...
Nicola has broad experience devising and testing market access and client value proposition models, especially those focussed on changing customer buying behaviours through disruptive products and services. She has worked with a range of SMEs to devise and test business models, create and manage supply chains, optimise resource use and establish market position.
Nicola has also direct experience promoting the use of innovation and technology as drivers for economic regeneration and growth through her previous work as Innovation Strategy Manager at the East Midlands Development Agency. This role involved extensive work across the region’s business and academic sectors to promote new business models and new ways of working and collaborating to secure economic benefits.
Nicola obtained a degree in Fashion Design and Technology from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Stuart Hartley
Stuart joined ANGLE in 2011 after a highly successful period as Head of Business Incubation and Enterprise at De Montfort University, Leicester. Stuart’s direct experience in SME management, together with his broader background in knowledge based enterprise development; business incubation and incubation centre management are key aspects of his role as a Senior Consultant. Whilst at De Montfort University Stuart developed and delivered a wide range of start up services for Students, Staff and Graduates, in total supporting the creation of over 700 businesses and providing business start up training to over 1500 individuals.
Stuart has spoken on behalf of UK Business Incubation, National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurs and Enterprise Educators UK, where he was successfully nominated for Enterprise Educator of the Year in 2008.
Prior to joining ANGLE Stuart ran his own marketing consultancy business working with SMEs in the professional services sector across the East Midlands. He has also worked in the entertainment and leisure industry supporting with high profile national and international clients.
Stuart has a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Science from the University of Greenwich and an MBA from De Montfort University.

Michael O'Brien

His background includes both strategic consulting and operational business management with considerable experience in business planning, financial modelling and market evaluation. He has also led the implementation of processes to ensure organisational excellence and recognition by ‘Investors in People’.
Michael’s earlier career was strategic consulting roles for both Mercer Management Consulting and then in-house for Guinness. He has developed start-up business plans, delivered appraisals and developed corporate strategy. He subsequently led operational units in Australasia through the market and business planning process, investment project prioritisation, and cost benchmarking - leading to cost reductions of 30%. Prior to joining ANGLE he was Director of Strategy and Operations and interim-CEO with responsibility for 40 staff and a £4.5 million budget.
Michael has a BA (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering from University of Cambridge and an MBA from the University of Warwick.

He is a serial entrepreneur with a background in naval and civil maritime engineering and a successful track record in international business development, sales and marketing.
Andy has established and continues to grow a number of technology based businesses with activities ranging from provision of highly specialised cryogenic material treatment services to the aerospace, auto-sport and general engineering sectors, to the development of collaborative trading platforms for suppliers and buyers in the engineering sector. This direct, hands-on experience as a business builder brings knowledge that is of immense practical value.
Andy is a leader and team builder with considerable experience in business planning, new product launch, financial modelling and business case development.
Andy’s early career was as an electrical engineer, working internationally on the design and fit-out of complex electrical control systems. He then moved into an international sales environment spearheading expansion into the Indian market and a range of new products into utilities, wholesale and OEM markets worldwide.

Hannah Weimers

She has expertise in supporting creative, digital and manufacturing industries to identify and address new opportunities. Hannah previously worked as a consultant in international trade and export for an international trade commission; as a result she is an expert in export and import development.
Hannah’s early career was in marketing, first within an advertising agency environment and then at New Media Knowledge (NMK). Owned by the University of Westminster, NMK is a business growth forum for the digital sector. Prior to joining ANGLE, Hannah worked as a Business Development Consultant for the Australian Trade Commission in London, the Australian Government’s official trade promotion agency. She supported over 400 creative SMEs to develop market entry and supply chain positions in the UK during her time at the Australian Trade Commission.
She has worked with many high profile UK and Australian based brands as well as supporting early stage SMEs to develop business models, manage supply chains, reduce resource use and secure their market position.
Hannah has a degree in Contemporary Europe from the University of Southampton and has studied at university in both Spain and France, completing her dissertation on EU Growth in French. She has also undertaken an MBA module at the University of Westminster in the Marketing of Products and Services.
