Together the technologies provide sample to answer molecular analysis of CTCs from a simple blood draw.

We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Health & Safety Co-Op Student to join us this winter. This term we are looking to employ a Co-Op Student who will support the Human Resources Department and the Joint Health & Safety Committee in further developing and maintaining the Health & Safety Programs in both Canada and the US.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support in the development and maintenance of the US and Canadian health and safety programs
  • Participate in drafting policies to support health and safety programs
  • Perform job hazard analysis for operations and equipment
  • Perform health and safety orientations for new employees
  • Assist with all health and safety training requirements
  • Support COVID-19 secure work practices as required
  • Support JHSC activities as required through monitoring the committee inbox, leading the committee meetings, preparing minutes and maintaining the action item list
  • Providing ergonomic education to employees as required
  • Perform such other duties and responsibilities that are consistent with the role of an Occupational Health & Safety Co-Op Student or as may be assigned from time to time

Required Experience, Education and Knowledge:

  • Enrolment in a Post-Secondary Occupational Health & Safety Co-Op program
  • Educated in developing comprehensive occupational health & safety programs
  • Trained in the development and implementation of inventories for chemicals (WHMIS/GHS), chemical evaluations, risk assessments and safe work procedures
  • Working knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements (e.g. cGMP, ISO, WHMIS, Occupational Safety)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
