Position Summary

The Quality Control Associate organizes and conducts in-process quality testes and final tests for the products produced by the company, including microarray consumables and biomedical assays and their components.  The QC Associate provides QC support for all functions of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct incoming inspection of raw materials
  • Conduct in-process testing of components and products manufactured by the company according to standard operating procedures
  • Conduct final tests
  • Release/quarantine in-process materials based on inspection or test results
  • Qualify, maintain and calibrate QC, measuring and test equipment in accordance with schedules and safety requirements
  • Conduct in-house calibration and support external calibration activities
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system
  • Maintain quality records in accordance with documented procedures
  • Participate in the development or revising of QC related SOPs and Work Instructions
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Support Manufacturing and R&D activities as required
  • Perform such other duties and responsibilities that are consistent with the role of a Quality Control Associate or as may be assigned from time to time

Required Experience, Education and Knowledge:

  • in Life Sciences OR an equivalent combination of commercial experience and formal education
  • 3 years’ experience working in a regulated environment in biomedical or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in quality control testing
  • Familiarity with Canadian and international regulatory and quality assurance regulations
  • Experience operating in an ISO certified environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
